Hi Bridgette,

I got your e-mail about this last week, and i really enjoyed it. I never heard the old wives tail that "all dogs could swim." My first dog loved to swim, my second dog would go in the water, get a drink, and come right back out, and the one that I have now, will not go near the water. I have never tried to force my dogs to go in if they didn't want to. I just seemed to know that they did not want to swim or didn't like the water. I had a friend who had two dogs, mostly lab and they were siblings. One loved the water and the other one didn't. Thanks for the tips about the first aid. I will read it again to make sure i remember. I have always been afraid of big dogs with small balls.

Peace,
