I appreciate the points you make in your article about feeding our pets the best we can afford and especially being educated as to what they need for optimum health. The statement you make in the third paragraph: “Cats and dogs are carnivores, and therefore they require protein in the form of meat.” made me wonder. Cats are, indeed, carnivores. However, I have always been of the understanding that dogs are omnivores, requiring not only meat in their diets but vegetables and some grains. Is this an inaccurate understanding? Thank you.
